About Ironclad Fence Norman, Your Norman, OK Fence Company

Ironclad Fence Norman is a Norman fence company that builds, replaces and repairs fences for homes, businesses and acreage across Cleveland County. We do one thing, fences and gates, and we build every one to handle what central Oklahoma throws at it: straight-line wind, spring storms and red clay soil that swells and shrinks with the weather. This page explains how we build, how we work with you and where we work.

Who we are

A Norman, OK Fence Company Focused on Fences Built to Last

Most fence problems we see in Norman don’t start with bad lumber. They start underground: posts set too shallow, wood posts rotting at the ground line, or concrete that never reached below the frost line. Once the clay soil starts moving, a fence like that leans, sags and pulls its gates out of square within a few seasons.

That’s why we put our effort where you can’t see it. Our Norman-based fence crews and experienced installers build the frame first, with deep concrete footings, steel posts on wood privacy fences and gate posts sized for the gate they carry. The boards, panels or pickets go on a frame that’s already straight and solid.

We work for homeowners, HOAs, businesses, churches and rural landowners, and we install the fence types Norman properties actually need:

  • Wood privacy fences in cedar and pine
  • Wrought iron and ornamental steel
  • Vinyl privacy and picket fences
  • Galvanized and black chain link
  • Steel pipe and ranch fencing
  • Driveway gates and gate openers
  • Fence repair and storm damage
  • Staining, sealing and old fence removal

Our standards

How We Build Every Fence in Norman, OK

These are the standards behind every fence we install, whatever the material or size. Ask us about any of them at your estimate.

  • Deep Concrete Footings

    24–36 in on a 6 ft fence

Posts go in about one-third as deep as the fence is tall, set in concrete and below central Oklahoma’s 12–18 inch frost line, so freezing ground and swelling clay can’t lift them.

  • Steel Posts on Wood Fences

    2-3/8″ galvanized steel

Wood privacy fences are framed on galvanized steel posts, the most common method in Oklahoma. They won’t rot at the ground line or snap in high wind. Wood posts are available if you prefer the look.

  • Tight Post Spacing

    6–8 ft on center

Closer posts mean shorter rail spans, so rails don’t bow and panels don’t flex in gusts. We space posts for the material and the height, not to save a few posts.

  • Fasteners That Hold

    Ring-shank or galvanized

Wood swells and shrinks with Oklahoma humidity. Ring-shank, stainless or galvanized fasteners grip as it moves and won’t streak rust down your boards.

  • Gates Built to Carry Weight

Deeper gate posts, 24–72 h cure

Gate posts are set deeper and wider than line posts. Heavy gates are hung only after the concrete has cured, so they swing true and latch for years.

  • Utilities Marked First

    OKIE811 on every job

Before we dig a single hole, we call OKIE811 to have buried gas, power and water lines marked. It’s free and required by Oklahoma law, and it keeps your yard and our crew safe.

Working with us

What You Can Expect When You Hire Us

Six commitments we make on every fence, from the first phone call to the final walkthrough.

  1. 1. A Free On-Site Estimate

We come to your property, walk the fence line with you and measure footage, slope, gate openings and any old fence. There’s no cost for the visit and no pressure to sign.

  2. 2. A Written, Itemized Quote

Your quote lists materials, footage, posts, gates and tear-out line by line, so you know exactly what you’re paying for and can compare it fairly with other bids.

  3. 3. Proof of Insurance Before Work Starts

We’ll show you proof of insurance before anyone sets foot on your property to work. You shouldn’t have to take any contractor’s word for it.

  4. 4. Permits, HOA Approval and Property Lines

We check current City of Norman requirements and pull any permit your fence needs, prepare the details your HOA board asks for, and help you confirm where your property line runs before we set posts.

  5. 5. A Clean Job Site

We haul away the old fence, post concrete and scrap when you need it removed, and leave your yard the way we found it, minus the old fence.

  6. 6. A Final Walkthrough and Written Warranty

When the fence is done, we walk it with you, check every gate and latch, and hand you the written workmanship warranty plus any manufacturer’s warranty for vinyl or aluminum.

Questions

Questions About Working With Ironclad Fence Norman

Are you a local Norman, OK fence company?

Yes. We build and repair fences in Norman, OK and nearby towns in Cleveland, McClain and Grady counties, plus south Oklahoma City. We're a service-area business, so we don't run a showroom. We come to your property for the estimate, measure on site and build there. If you're not sure your address is in our area, call (405) 287-2250 and we'll tell you right away.

Can I see proof of insurance before you start?

Yes. We'll show you proof of insurance before any work starts on your property. Ask for it at your estimate or any time before your install date. It's a fair question to ask every fence contractor you get a bid from.

Do you build residential and commercial fences?

Both. Most of our work is residential: wood privacy, vinyl, ornamental steel and chain link fences, gates and repairs. We also fence businesses, churches, apartment communities and rural acreage with chain link, ornamental steel, screening fence and steel pipe ranch fence. Commercial and custom gate projects usually take longer to schedule because materials are often special order.

What happens after I call or send the estimate form?

A person calls you back to ask a few questions about your project and set a time to see your property. At the visit we walk the fence line, measure, note gates, slope and any old fence to remove, and answer your questions. You then get a written, itemized quote. There's no cost for the estimate and no obligation to book. Calls to our line may be recorded for quality and record keeping.
